Rebirth Guide

Rebirth is the prestige layer in Carve Wood. After you unlock biome two and reach the milestone hidden in the upper-right corner of your HUD, a new button appears that lets you reset your lumber yard and carry forward a permanent cash bonus. Players who understand the threshold out-earn players who rebirth the moment the button unlocks, because the multiplier compounds across your entire save.

What rebirth does

When you rebirth:

  • Your Coins, seedbeds, workers, and upgrades reset to zero.
  • You keep a permanent cash multiplier that applies to every future sale.
  • You unlock the hidden second tutorial path (which awards the Mythic badge).

The multiplier starts at 1x after your first rebirth and increases each time you rebirth. The rate at which it grows is tied to how many Coins you had when you triggered the rebirth.

When to rebirth

The rebirth button appears after you reach a certain Coin threshold. The exact number is hidden, but it sits somewhere in the upper-right corner of your HUD — watch for the button to light up after a long grind session.

The strategic question is not “when can I rebirth” but “when should I rebirth.” The right moment is when your current Coin balance is high enough that the new multiplier makes the next cycle meaningfully faster. Rebirthing too early with a low balance locks in a weak multiplier and costs you hours of progress.

Rule of thumb: rebirth when your Coin balance would let you buy everything you lost within one or two good sessions. If that would take five sessions, wait.

What you lose and keep

| Lost on rebirth | Kept after rebirth | |---|---|n| Coins | Permanent cash multiplier | | Seedbeds | Unlocked biomes | | Workers | Badge progress | | Upgrades | Second tutorial access | | Woodchips | |

The permanent multiplier is the only thing that carries over numerically. Everything else starts from scratch.

How the multiplier compounds

Each rebirth adds to your base multiplier. The compounding works like this:

  • First rebirth: multiplier starts at 1x (technically 1x is no bonus).
  • Each subsequent rebirth: multiplier increases by a percentage of your pre-rebirth Coin balance.

This means the best rebounds happen when you are wealthy. A player who rebirths at 10 million Coins walks back into a 2x or 3x multiplier. A player who rebirths at 100k Coins walks back into almost nothing.

The practical result: the richer you are when you rebirth, the faster you rebuild.

Admin Abuse and rebirth

The Mythic badge (Complete the Tutorial) is only unlocked after your first rebirth. If you are chasing the badge, plan your first rebirth deliberately:

  1. Choose a low-traffic hour so the server stays stable.
  2. Make sure you have at least thirty minutes without interruption.
  3. Read every screen of the second tutorial before closing it.
  4. Do not log out until the badge confirms.

For the badge details see the All Badges page.

Rebirth calculator

The rebuild path that maximizes multiplier per hour spent:

  1. Rebirth only after you have maxed seedbeds and at least one worker.
  2. Spend the first post-rebirth session rushing back to the Coin level where you rebirthed.
  3. On the second session, buy upgrades and workers faster because the multiplier is already active.
  4. On the third session, you are earning Coins at full multiplier speed while still rebuilding infrastructure.

The moment where the multiplier pays for itself is when a single post-rebirth session earns more Coins than an entire pre-rebirth session at the same play intensity.

Common mistakes

  • Rebirthing immediately when the button appears. If you just started, the multiplier will be nearly invisible.
  • Rebirthing during a 2x Weekend or Admin Abuse window. Wait until the boost ends so your final pre-rebirth harvest is maximal.
  • Not writing down your multiplier. After your fifth rebirth you will forget what stack you are on.
  • Skipping the second tutorial. If you rebirth and close the modal without reading it, you lose the Mythic badge window until your next rebirth.
